Thats What She Said Vs. Taleo One Kick Wonders

So we showed up for our kickball game on Friday night and we should have known we were headed for some trouble. 

First: The Taleo One Kick Wonders were already warming up in their matching and very official looking jerseys. 

Second: They were equipped with a banner. Next thing you know they were busting out matching hats. 

To scare them off we had Carson lead us in some pre-game stretches wearing our non-uniforms. 

And then the game started. Taleo One Kick Wonders proved to be very competitive and would quote from the rule book whenever they thought we were breaking a rule. My thoughts on that? This is a city league kickball game. Look at the Teleo Stompers fighting with the refs... are you kidding? Maybe the pressure of the matching uniforms made them take the game so seriously?

One Year Ago

craft night was started. One year ago I went to Brittany's house with people I barely knew and then I left with friends... the craft was just the bonus. 

Craft night typically just means hang out night with the girls... but we have busted out a few really cute crafts. To think it all started with the Halloween banner (thanks to Nicki)

and a year later the "trick." Wood, mod podge, and paper make me very happy (get the details how to make this here). 

I'm Done... and Cameron Has Just Begun

Ok, so I technically didn't graduate... but I feel like I did since I just completed my last online class. No more hours of #@%@ doing homework, tests, reading, and watching videos online. I might do a cartwheel and throw my pretend cap. Now I just have to study for my board exam... maybe later. 

And Cam was loving his weekend as he started his MBA classes on Friday. See you in 3 years babe. 

What Did You Do On Sunday?

We played Yahtzee for 2 hours. And no, I'm not kidding. Cameron got very competitive on the 6th game... it was the tie breaker after all. 

Starting with the gentle shake. 

And onto the not so gentle shake while yelling at the dice. 

And the roll... 

And its good. But who won the tie breaker? I did, of course. 

Baby Bouncies

Friday was a big night- it involved some "baby bouncies" and a few "soft and smooths." Team "Thats What She Said" was formed and we pretty much dominated our first kickball game. This league better watch out, especially because there are definitely some athletes on our team (and some definite non-athletes... guess which category I fall into?) 

Anyhow... the team line up. Brooke meant business. 

I took a million pictures and pretty much none of them turned out. My point and shoot was just not doing the job for all the sweet action shots. Shelley wins the prize for best base coach. 

Who would think those kickball refs were so serious? Note to self: do not touch the actual plate as you run across home base.  

And here we are, victory number 1 for team "Thats What She Said." Championships here we come. 

Stinky For Days

Last Saturday was date night at 

with Brooke and Jason. The Stinking Rose is all about the garlic... in everything... in large amounts. Delicious. 

Have you had the Garlic Rose Relish? It's amazing- and its extra amazing as you burp it back up later that night and the next day. The truth hurts and you know what I'm talking about if you have been there. 

The Stinking Rose's Garlic Rose Relish

1 bunch chopped parsley

-1/4 cup chopped garlic

-2 TBS vinegar

-1 tsp salt

-olive oil to cover

Store in the fridge, serves 6-7 

After dinner we walked around North Beach for a bit stopping in all the little random shops 

We had a man sing "My Girl" to us as we crossed the street and then we had to run from the creepy man with the hood and sunglasses on

And no trip is complete without frozen yogurt and frozen gummy bears that break your teeth

Brooke, scoot over quick. Jason is having one of the dreaded garlic burps.

I'm Feeling Inspired

Halloween is my most favorite holiday to decorate for. I'm pulling mine out this weekend... and I'm feeling very inspired from this scene from Pottery Barn. Their halloween decorations have arrived and I'm in love!! 

Apple Sweet Potatoes

Ignore the kind of gross looking photo and just make these apple sweet potatoes. They are so good and 2 ingredients= easy. 

Apple Sweet Potatoes 

-2 granny smith apples (peeled and cubed)

-2 sweet potatoes (peeled and cubed)

Steam these up till they are super soft and then mash them up. I can't remember if I added pepper?  

Did My Dad

really buzz his head? My dad is becoming so hip!! Or maybe he is having a mid-life crisis? 

Party Garland

I'm pretty sure I'm in love with this party garland. Along with all the other crafts I have on my "Crafts to Make" list, this one gets bumped to the top. I will have this party garland at my 30th birthday next year to celebrate that dreaded year. Who is making it for me?

Another Boating Trip

We had another boating trip with the Brooke and Jason- I think 2 weekends ago. Another great time on Una Mas. 

After dinner at Chili's the boys went over to our house and Brooke and I ran to Target. When we got back this is how we found them. Poor things... 

Wives Of The Year

Brooke and I decided to up our chances for receiving the "Wife Of The Year" award. So we planned a date for our hubbies. We headed to dinner at Fudruckers and the plan was to blindfold them. But someone forgot about the blindfolds (I'm not mentioning any names, but it starts with "B" and ends with a "rooke"). So our make shift blindfolds were sunglasses with their eyes closed. They claimed they didn't peek... but they seemed to guess where we were every turn we took. Why do boys like to spoil our fun?? 

Here's Cameron-  claiming that my driving made him carsick because he had to keep his eyes closed the whole time. Drama, drama, drama.... 

Yes, you must still keep your eyes closed. 

And where did we end up? Golfsmith, our hubbies favorite place. They have been hinting that they have wanted new clubs forever so we brought them here to get fitted. I must say that getting fit for clubs takes forever- Brooke and I found chairs and just chatted for about 2 hours. The boys were in heaven.

They Have Been Found

What did we do on Labor Day? Save the planet by walking everywhere (even though Cameron always says global warming is a crock). We decided to walk to breakfast in downtown Livermore. Which sounds all great but we had no idea where Noah's Bagels was. Atfer 1 hour we finally found Noah's Bagels but Cameron said he didn't something more filling since we had been walking for an hour. Thats how we ended up here:

What a strange little restaurant but my omelet was actually good and Cameron loved his big ol' waffle. Then we headed over to Osh to pick up a gas can for the weed eater while I checked out the comfy chairs. I totally had one of these during my college years. 

This is my favorite photo. Of course I was talking a million photos and here is Cameron saying and I quote, "Give me the camera, I'm so sick of you taking photos of everything, I just want to go home." I just love that I actually got this on film to document it. 

And my best discovery of the day... I found the Sweets Candy (in Utah) cinnamon bears at Osh, the most random of places. So Sweets Candy makes the one and only cinnamon bear and I haven't found them in CA since I've moved here. And now... I have them back in my life. What a great Labor Day. 

Prop 8

Yesterday Cameron and I spent the morning pounding the streets for Prop 8. Prop 8 protects traditional marriage and you can read about it here. We went door to door in Livermore polling families as to what their vote would be. It really was a really great experience, here's what I learned: 

1. Don't ever wear flip-flops for 3 hours while walking up and down hills.

2. People really are still very nice- here we were, complete strangers, and people are very kind when they open the door. I'm keeping this in mind for the next time some stranger knocks on my door. 

3. I really hate dogs. I never really liked them before, but now I really don't like them (No offense to the dog lovers, especially Carolyn). I'm pretty sure every family in CA has a yipping, yapping, smelling, barking dog (or dogs) who can not be controlled when the door bell rings. Just don't get me started... 

End Of Summer BBQ

How can summer be over? So sad!! We had a bbq to not celebrate the end of summer. Conveniently it landed on my birthday, happy birthday to me. I made Maressa's cake which was so so good. But I recommend not driving with this cake- it makes your cake look not so pretty anymore.

Giants In A Suite

I'm so behind! I'm not liking this going back to work thing. Suddenly I have no free time which definitely means no blogging. So I'm going to spend this weekend playing catch up on A LOT of things... my list is very long. 

So I really like Cameron's marketing events... they do such great things. We went to the Giant's game a few weekends ago and sat in a suite. Those things rock!! Great seats (although I didn't watch a drop of the game), good food, and a fridge full of diet coke. Plus we got "Giant's bucks." Now... what did we buy with those Giant's bucks? Most people bought beer and garlic fries. We bought matching shirts. It's kind of like we were in high school again going to those dances where you matched- BHS called this dance MORP. Those were the days!

And let me not forget to mention that I added to my embarrassing moments list. Let's see... it went something like this. I drank lots of free diet coke which resulted in frequent trips to the bathroom. We were in the parking lot leaving and I saw the VERY long line of traffic and knew that I would need to make a pit stop before we sat in the car for a 1 1/2 hours. So yes I did, I went in the porta potty. Sick, I know. So I'm about wrapping things up when I hear a small boy child say, "I need to go to the bathroom" and then my door opens. Poor child, he is probably traumatized. Apparently I didn't lock the door all the way. Classic.
