Oh Christmas Tree!

I wish I could say we chopped down our own tree and then brought it home flocked {because I really wanted to do both this year} Instead it went something like this... we got our tree at Home Depot while listening to Weston scream because he wanted to go inside Home Depot to look at the tools. I asked the tree workers if they flocked trees and no lie, he said, "What's flocking? Didn't they do that like a loooong time ago?" It was all very magical.

It was actually really fun and we got a 7 footer instead of our usual 4-5 footer. We're big time this year.  I wanted a taller one but it seemed too much to decorate considering I only have about 10 ornaments.  I really need to get my craft on asap.

We wanted to involve Weston in the tree choosing festivities but he was too busy running up and down the rows of trees

and tickling {or tormenting} Holden.

Let the festivities begin!! I'm sooooo excited.

Zoo

My mom came into town for Thanksgiving so we packed in a bunch of activities... and the zoo was one of them. It's our latest obsession; the boys and I love going there.

The zoo is like the lottery- you never know what you're going to see. Today we totally lucked out and saw lots of animals we hadn't seen yet. Weston got to run around the goat pen; he was in heaven. He loved feeding the goats till the zoo keeper told us they poop in their hay and we couldn't touch it. Who knew... I maybe should have read the sign?

I was obsessed with the baboons today {no, not because of their red butts} but because they were all paired off today primping each other. It's like they were real people combing each others hair and pulling out the bugs and weeds. It was really sweet.

Brayden met us there and these two had such a  blast running around and talking their jib jab to each other.

I loved seeing the lions for the first time

but Weston could have cared less. He was way more into playing his disgusting garbage can game with Brayden. Ewww. But it was honestly hilarious watching them have so much fun with a garbage can.

Because my mom was there and I had some help, we were able to do the rides. Weston took his firetruck ride very seriously... and he was majorly obsessed with the tiger roller coaster. This boy loves thrill rides just like his mama.

Same But Different

Same age {6 1/2 months}, same couch position, same pj's, same Neidig nose, and same hair. And that's about it. I think they look sooooo different now.  I'm loving these side by side comparisons.... I've saved all my outfits and this is my new favorite obsession.

Acorn Garland

I'm seriously lacking in the Thanksgiving decor department. I saw this cute garland and made one for myself with giant acorns. Who needs any other Thanksgiving decor when you have life size acorns??

Weston's Preschool Thanksgiving Feast

Weston had a thanksgiving feast at preschool right before they went on break. They sang a few songs for  us and mostly there was a lot of happy preschool chaos. It brings back so many memories of teaching. Holden loved being there and was especially happy with the chaos. I swear, the more crazy the happier he is. It was fun to be there with Weston and to see him with his friends.

Then the feast started... Weston took one bite of it and said, "Don't like it" and immediately wanted to go play. Did I mention his new favorite phrase is "don't like it?" It's been a real treat to figure out what he does like and it seems to be only chocolate milk and one episode of Mickey Mouse. Ahhh. To be 2 again.

The Two Seater

The only thing I like about Costco is their shopping carts {and when they have Hanna Anderson jammies}. Seriously, can more stores please catch on to the 2 seater?

Holden: 6 Months

Little Holdie has found his lungs this past month. And they are loud. One may think he's crying but no, he's just talking as loud as can be and it definitely resembles a very loud scream with his mouth wide open. At home I think it's hilarious but I'll pass when he starts doing it at stores and doctor's offices. Holden literally refuses to miss any part of the action at any moment. He will flail his body around till he can find Weston or anything that is making a sound. Cameron and I were trying to remember how many times these past 6 months he's snuggled up to us, including when he was tired. I think the count was less than 5. Sigh. He also loves to throw these days. I literally think he and Weston could play catch if we positioned them correctly. He loves to laugh, chew on Sophie, sit on his own in the bathtub, be outside, and play peek-a-boo. He's such a good baby and we love him to pieces.

Here he is screaming talking up a storm.

Solids

Solids.... I held off as long as I could. Six months passed by way too fast. It took Holden about 2 weeks to get the hang of opening his mouth and swallowing but I think he's going to be a good little eater like Weston was. He has to have his own spoon in his hands/mouth the entire time or else he refuses to eat. Seriously, it's really bizarre but whatever works. He's loving squash, bananas, applesauce, cereal, avocado, and yogurt. Bring on the mess!

Pumpkin Madness

We gutted,

hammered,

painted,

fingerpainted,

glittered and glued,

spray painted,

and carved. I think we covered all mediums.

Trick Or Treating {2011}

What a difference a year makes. Last year Weston ran around having a ton of fun but really had no clue what was going on. This year he was all about knocking, saying "trick teat" and "thank you," and reaching his hand into every bowl. He was all about the self service and did not want people choosing his candy for him. He would run back to me and yell, "Lollipop" whenever he scored a lolli, his favorite.   It was so fun and I'm a bit bummed it's over.... I can hardly wait till next year.

Holden enjoyed all the action from the stroller.
