We've been trying really hard to get to church on time and let me tell you, it's near impossible. Well, I know it's possible because it seems like everyone else is on time but us... but that's not the point. A few Sundays ago I rushed Weston out the door while Cameron finished getting Holden ready. We had a few minutes to kill so I took a few pics of Weston with his new side part. I thought he looked really sweet. He sat on the steps and watched his friends ride their bikes. Broke my heart and made me so proud of him all in the same moment. Love you Weston.

Playing
My boys love, love, love to play in the playroom. They want to go in there the second they wake up and they always want me to play with them. Always. Some days I'm pulling my hair out because all I want to do is do the dishes... but then I quickly remind myself that this will pass. This darling stage where they want me by their side every second of every day will pass. Playing store and restaurant will pass and they'll want to play legos with their friends and not me {sob!} Yes, the dishes can wait. Like every mom, I just want to bottle them up and keep them forever at every stage. I want to remember every little thing that they do that just makes them uniquely them. I feel so grateful to have them both.
Weston has really been into making lists. He carries around this pad of paper and pen everywhere with him and he calls it his "list." He goes to bed with the list, goes in the car with the list, etc. etc. He writes his Trader Jo's list and tells me all the things he's going to buy. He's got this incredible imagine and he loves to play pretend anything. He also wears this blue car shirt every time he gets the chance. Oh, and with his black comfy pants. They are his "favorite shirt I like" and his "favorite pants I like" and he would literally never wear anything else if I let him {which I don't. I know, mean mom}.
Holden is super close to walking {he's up to 6 steps} and is completely thrilled when he gets into Weston's things. He's so easy going, loves to laugh and giggle, absolutely loves music and singing, loves to point at things, and is happy as long as he's around people.
Taking a little play break for a snack. Who doesn't love peanut butter in the eye?

The Fork
Holden has now decided that self-forking is the only acceptable method of feeding. He is so beyond excited to use a fork....ALL OF THE TIME. He refuses to use his fingers and refuses to be fed by us which makes meal times a real treat around here. Occasionally he'll accept a forked bite from us but it's complete refusal if you try and put anything in his mouth with your fingers. Picky, picky, picky.

Outside
The weather was super gorgeous about a week ago. We were outside all day long and loving every second.... and now we're huddled under umbrellas and blankets. Oh well, we loved it while it lasted. My camera was having a very bad day {because it couldn't have been the user} but I love these {blurry} pictures of the boys with their friends.
Holden and Luke doing laps up and down the street. Both are sooooo close to walking.
The community pear. I think at this point all of the neighborhood had eaten a bite of the pear, after it had rolled around on the ground and probably been stepped on.
Weston, Brayden and Evan.... digging up our side yard {sorry Cam!} They were so serious about "working" and "digging a hole" that they couldn't be stopped.

Sword Fighting
Watching Cameron and Weston sword fight might be my favorite thing ever. Weston takes it so seriously and thinks it's hysterical. He wants to sword fight the second Cameron gets home {and I'm relieved he only wants Cameron to sword fight with him}. The game goes like this.... Weston cuts off all of Cameron's limbs till he can't walk or sword fight anymore, then he cuts off his head, then he has to kiss him to make him come back alive. Then multiply this by 100.

Almost Cruising + Some Potty Talk
Holden is crawling up a storm, pulling himself up on everything, loves to stand, and is so close to cruising. People think I'm crazy but I hope he walks early. I'm not so much of a fan of the crawling stage but I LOVE when they can walk! And now for some potty talk. Weston is potty trained, well, pee-trained. He thinks pooping in his undies is just as much fun as pooping in a diaper... so I kicked him out of his undies. I was throwing too many undies away {because sick, I'm not scrubbing those things} and now he get's to wear a pull-up. I wish Weston was obsessed about his undies as much is Holden is.

Finally
It's about time.... Weston actually wants to be around Holden. All of the time. Well, most of the time. He asks where Holden is, wants to play with him, wants him to be with us, kisses him, wrestles him, and sits on him for horsey rides. Holden thinks it's hysterical. I think their interactions are so endearing and I love every second of it. Weston genuinely likes him. Sheesh, it only took 9 months.

On The Mend
Yowsers. I've seen, touched, and smelled too many bodily fluids these past two weeks to make me sick to my stomach for the next year. Luckily we're on the mend.
After a two week hiatus Holden will finally eat solids again. Green smoothies were a hit tonight and he is beyond obsessed with drinking from a cup. I'm considering putting all of his baby food in a cup?
Meanwhile Weston's new favorite excuse for everything is that he's too hot. Too hot to eat, to sleep, to wear clothes, to go outside, to take a bath, etc. etc. Isn't it winter? Sigh.

Good Clean Fun
One of the best things ever is when you can ditch the baby bath tub. We tossed ours months ago because I was feeling a little grossed out by the rust/mold/nasty things that were developing in the little crevices behind the tub. Holden's bum seems to be a little slippery so we've had a few slip and slides in the tub...... it just adds to their experience, right? Both of them love their baths. Holden's favorite thing to do is to splash which typically means everyone and everything is soaked in the bathroom. Weston's favorite is to lay on his tummy and to put his toys in buckets and dump them out.

The Two Seater
The only thing I like about Costco is their shopping carts {and when they have Hanna Anderson jammies}. Seriously, can more stores please catch on to the 2 seater?

The Stick
I think the thing I love most about being around small kids is that they find EVERYTHING so fascinating and exciting. Every bird, every stick, every airplane, every truck, every pumpkin, etc. etc. Weston shouts out the name of everything he sees and he acts like its the first time he's ever seen one. It's a good reminder to find joy in the simple things...
Today's simple thing.... the stick.
We had just finished up a play date at the park and I decided to feed Holden before we left. Holden gobbled up his bottle while Weston found a stick.
He discovered that he could break off pieces of the stick and then put them in his pocket. And then my
pocket.

Where's Weston?
I went to peek on Weston today during his nap. He wasn't in his bed so I figured he was playing around in his bathroom {which is in his bedroom}. Not in the bathroom... and now I start to panic although I knew he hadn't left the room. Where was he? All comfy on the floor in his closet. What I would have given to be a fly on the wall when he decided to set up camp in his closet with his blankies and my cutting mat.

It Took All I Had
to get them both on this blanket, to stay there, to not scream "no," and then to compose this slightly blurry shot. I'm still trying to convince Weston that it might be fun to hold his baby brother. It's not working out so well. But hey, I got them on the blanket together. In other news... Weston's favorite thing to do right now is to pretend burp all day long and then say "Excuse me." Boys will be boys I guess. Holden loves to hang out on his tummy and he adores his brother. Weston can get him to laugh the hardest just by doing a fake laugh and it's hilarious. Love my boys!
