Playing

My boys love, love, love to play in the playroom. They want to go in there the second they wake up and they always want me to play with them. Always. Some days I'm pulling my hair out because all I want to do is do the dishes... but then I quickly remind myself that this will pass. This darling stage where they want me by their side every second of every day will pass. Playing store and restaurant will pass and they'll want to play legos with their friends and not me {sob!} Yes, the dishes can wait. Like every mom, I just want to bottle them up and keep them forever at every stage. I want to remember every little thing that they do that just makes them uniquely them. I feel so grateful to have them both.

Weston has really been into making lists. He carries around this pad of paper and pen everywhere with him and he calls it his "list." He goes to bed with the list, goes in the car with the list, etc. etc. He writes his Trader Jo's list and tells me all the things he's going to buy. He's got this incredible imagine and he loves to play pretend anything. He also wears this blue car shirt every time he gets the chance. Oh, and with his black comfy pants. They are his "favorite shirt I like" and his "favorite pants I like" and he would literally never wear anything else if I let him {which I don't. I know, mean mom}.

Holden is super close to walking {he's up to 6 steps} and is completely thrilled when he gets into Weston's things. He's so easy going, loves to laugh and giggle, absolutely loves music and singing, loves to point at things, and is happy as long as he's around people.

Taking a little play break for a snack. Who doesn't love peanut butter in the eye?

The Fork

Holden has now decided that self-forking is the only acceptable method of feeding. He is so beyond excited to use a fork....ALL OF THE TIME. He refuses to use his fingers and refuses to be fed by us which makes meal times a real treat around here. Occasionally he'll accept a forked bite from us but it's complete refusal if you try and put anything in his mouth with your fingers. Picky, picky, picky.

48 Hours

Cameron had a meeting in So. Cal so we had the genius idea of bringing the entire family. For 48 hours. But we REALLY wanted to see our cute Davis and Dexter and we crammed a lot of fun in those 48 hours.

Weston had a little thing for Davis. I think it was the cheeks? We wanted to get a pic of the cousins and Hilarry and I started the convo like this, "Let's have Weston prop up the twins, one on each knee, and put Holden next to one of the twins." Um.... then we remembered we wanted the twins to live past the photo.
{Weston with Davis}

Bumbos became our friends and then the licking entered the picture. Boys.

Then Weston escaped while Holden tried.... and Davis and Dexter waited patiently.

But it was all worth it in the end.... a perfect lil' cousin shot.
{Dex, Holden, Weston, Davis}

Seriously, could they get any cuter?

Lot's of laughing

and wrestling took place. Poor Davis. But what do you expect with a house full of boys?

Cameron with his brother, Preston.

Hilarry and I drug the boys to the mall to try and get some shopping in. That didn't work out so well but  we did find a carousal. Happy, happy boys. We love you So. Cal Rosenhan's and can't wait till next time!!

The Easter Bunny {2012}

Weston came running into our room Easter morning... hysterical. Through his sobs I hear, "No bunny come to my house, it's gone, nothing's there!!" Apparently he had woken up, ran to the kitchen, and saw nothing.  Not a thing... the bunny hopped over our house this year. It might have been one of the sweetest and funniest moments ever. That tricky bunny... he wanted the boys to hunt for their stuff. I showed him the note the bunny left and he got on board, kind of.

He was definitely confused but he got into the groove once he figured out he was looking for eggs. Surprisingly, he was able to figure out most of the clues on his own.

He eventually got led to his bunny loot.... the bunny forgot baskets this year and left a sensory bin full of toys and treats. They were in heaven.

Easter {2012}

Getting ready for church is always a feat. Then trying to add in taking a pictures.... it seems impossible just thinking about it now. The boys looked super darling and they sat down long enough to snap a few pictures.

Church Egg Hunt {2012}

Weston was mega obsessed with his bunny ears this year. Every hunt or egg activity these babies were on. Our ward hosts a fun egg hunt each year and Weston had a blast.

Holden was there... but he literally would not leave his blanket. Cameron checked the weather and it was going to be 70 degrees so all the boys in the fam wore shorts and tee's. Let's just say my boys were the only one in shorts while everyone else was in pants and coats. Ha! Reminder for next year.... the hunt starts at 8 am and it's 50 degrees at 8 am.

No outing is complete without an injury.... Weston ate it climbing up the slide and got a huge ol' welt on the side of his head. Nothing a little chocolate couldn't fix.

Egg Dying {2012}

Weston loved dying eggs this year. Alone. He literally would not let Cameron or I touch the eggs, the dyes, or anything involving the whole process. I wanted to try some color blocking but all I heard was, "No, I do it. " So we all hung out and watched Weston dye eggs. Ahhh, the egg memories.

Neighborhood Egg Hunt {2012}

It's nuts to think how long we've lived in the neighborhood. Four years. I think it's the longest I've lived anywhere in the past 10 years. I started getting all sentimental when I was looking back at our past neighborhood egg hunts {first, second}. Each year we've kind of dwindled in numbers as Weston and I formed closer friends. I guess living away from family you really and truly hope you find close friends to fill the family-less void. It makes me so grateful to have met friends that I would call my family. I hold these memories close because they've been some of the best.

We're missing Ava, Conner, and Ronan but the boys were ready to roll.
{Weston, Brayden, and Evan}

This picture is what I lovingly refer to as "this is what happens when you're the second child." Suzanne and I were so busy running around with the other boys that we didn't even know they were crying. Michelle's mom clued us in that our crying babies were being ignored. Poor babies.... but it really might be the greatest picture ever.

It really was a bad combo of wanting to be held and then being placed on the grass. Holden HATES the grass.

The kiddos after the goods had been found. Love how Weston is trying to grab his egg back that Lucas had just stolen out of his basket.
{Brayden, Weston, Evan, Holden, and Lucas}

We painted, decorated eggs with stickers, and then dyed eggs. All of which were huge messes but oh so fun.

Bunny sandwiches {on white bread} and cupcakes made their yearly appearance. New to the scene this year were tamales from a hole in the wall shop down the street. They were a good find and they'll be back next year.

Holden tried pb&j for the first time. Not quite one years old but how can you deny a kid pb&j bunnies on white bread?? He was literally obsessed.

Fun, fun day.
