Santa Cruz

We escaped the heat this weekend and went to Santa Cruz. But let's be honest, it was still 85 degrees {until you dipped your toes in the negative degree water}. That water is so dang cold. Weston was definitely not a fan.

I don't care that the beach is dirty, I love the boardwalk and all the crazies that you see there. Plus, there was a cheerleading competition right on the beach so there was LOTS of action. Secretly I love to watch cheerleading competitions so I had no complaints.

Weston's favorite thing this round at the beach was smashing in sand castles and cracking up every. single. time. Such a boy.

Of course we had to check out the sea lions which Weston refused to call anything but "dog."

Pretty sure he would have ran off the dock to pet the sea lion if I had let him. I'm a mean mom and slouching in this photo. Noted.

Little Fish

Weston is soon to be turning into a little fish... swim lessons started. Cameron was working from home his first day so I begged him to the come and he got to swim with a bunch of moms. Lucky guy. Weston, on the other hand, liked the idea of being confined in the pool for about 10 seconds. His idea of fun was running around the pool and throwing in all the toys. Oh so typical for him.

They have them learn to pull themselves out of the water. It took everything in me to not reach in and just pull him out. I was so sad watching him trying to pull himself out over and over again.

Kick, kick, kick. The teacher said, "Don't worry, he'll get it eventually." So reassuring....

Running

Why does it seem like the time between toddling around to walking and then to running is so itty bitty??

Love Me Some David Gray

The hubs and I literally fell in love listening to David Gray so I think that is why we love him so much... and now we finally got to see him live...on the 8th row. So awesome.... even though I now know all the nasty places he sweats.

Love the Greek Theatre... it's probably the best place EVER to see concerts. We were bonding with a couple in front of us when somehow Cameron spotted Koli {from Biggest Loser}.

Koli is somewhere in here. Who is he dating you might ask? Well, I'm assuming it's Ashley {also from B.L} since I stalked them kissing. Me and my new friend dashed over to meet them and I gave them hugs like I was their bestie or something. So sad the pic didn't turn out because I have no proof that I hugged reality star celebrities who know Jillian. Seriously, this was big time....

Grandma Rosenhan

It was great having Grandma Rosenhan visit last week. Weston loved getting to know his grandma and grandma loved getting to know him.

Labor Day Sunburn

Labor Day brought on the Antique Fair in Danville which I thoroughly enjoyed {while other members of my family did not}. And since we are having a freaking indian summer here in Cali; Weston got his first sunburn. Go away summer!!

But we cooled off with nectarines

and hung out in the shade. Brayden and Weston are starting to notice each other when they play now now. It's pretty cute to watch them following each other around and imitating each other. Today Brayden laid on the ground, Weston followed, and then kissed Brayden for whatever reason. Hilarious.

The Pickle

Apparently Weston is having a "I'm not going to eat" week. It's pretty sweet. Today we went to Noah's for lunch and he would only eat the giant pickle. That's it for today... an entire giant dill pickle.

Children's Museum

Cameron's mom, Margaret, came into town this past weekend and we decided to take her to one of Weston's favorite places... the children's museum. Maybe it's the teacher in me but I love any type of children's museum too {although the one in SLC is by far the best!!}

I wanted to die when he painted his first painting.

It's like he's in preschool all grown up. But then I remembered he isn't when he started licking the paintbrush. Toddlers....

Of course the water section is one of his favorites. He would spend all day drinking out of the hose if I would let him.

He discovered the teapot this time and literally thought he was drinking out of it for about 10 minutes.

Then the discovery of the cash register.... he was in love. The best part was that the pineapple rings from the pizza making station fit inside.

His other new obsession is driving the car or anything with a steering wheel. I love how he tries to shift and push all the buttons like he is 16 or something.
