Good Things Come To Those Who Wait

Cameron and I have a deep and obsessive love for David Gray. I'm pretty sure we fell in love listening to "This Year's Love" over, and over, and over. And I'm pretty sure we had a conversation that went like this, "Do you think we should name our first born Gray?"

We have been waiting and waiting for David Gray to come back to the states to tour. Last time he was here he played on a Sunday so we couldn't go {but I'm not going to lie... we definitely thought about it}.

But he's coming back... September 10th. Tickets were bought 1 minute after pre-sale started and I'm booking my babysitter now {along with a couple of backups}.

Oakland Zoo

Last weekend we headed to Oakland Zoo. It's been years and years since we've been to the zoo and Cameron and I were definitely fascinated with the animals. We spent most of the time trying to get Weston to look in the direction of the animals. Sometimes that worked out for us... sometimes it didn't. But we seriously had fun and loved seeing the animals.

I loved the chimps... and then I remembered the Oprah I watched were the lady got her face torn off by a chimp. That was seriously the saddest Oprah ever.

Weston loved the goats. He kept touching the goat's face and ears and the zoo worker kept saying, "Only his body, not his face." I tried...

Weston's idea of a good time was discovering that he could chew on his stroller handle bar. That kept him entertained for a good while.

Big red bottom = ready to mate. Look out male baboons!

And a carousal ride to end the day... he loved it!

Be Afraid

because I am. Luckily I drug Cameron out with me on a Craigslist pickup for some chairs because I needed the moral support. Next thing you know we were backroading to a farm where we passed animals and tents. Very strange and/or memorable experience... however you want to look at it.

I ended with with these home sweet home chairs with very cool lines and very scary chair cushions {notice the hose in the background}.

They stink.

They are dirty.

And covered in cat hair.

Don't worry, I have a plan and it involves gloves.

Gymboree

Weston is a complete maniac at Gymboree. It's like sensory and social overload all packed into 45 minutes. I'm personally a bit overloaded with the amount of clapping and yelling "Yeeeaaahhh" after every single song and move a child makes. If you've been to Gymboree... you SO know what I'm talking about.

We go on Saturday mornings so Cameron can join in on the "Gymbo" fun. Weston and Braydon {our neighbor} are a few months apart. They Gymboree with us and the boys have so much fun.

Coaster Love

I'm a coaster girl. I love them... and now you can laugh. The other day I even told my babysitter where the coasters were in case she needed a drink. Sad.

I've been needing some new ones and I was going to make some out of tiles. And then I remembered I have a baby who throws everything. On the plus side, it always makes things interesting around here.

I was at Michael's, scouting out the dollar bin {which I LOVE} and I found the best thing ever. Six monogramed paper coasters for a dollar.

So I decided to "dress" them up a bit with nothing else than paper and a little mod podge {the greatest invention ever}.

The Discovery Of Glass

Watching this take place might have been the funniest thing I'd seen in a long time.

Kitchen and Great Room: Before And After

Sigh. Of. Relief. I finished redecorating the kitchen and great room. A huge thank you to Caitlin who helped me pull everything together, gave me amazing color and fabric ideas, and encouraged me to take on a TON of DIY projects. She is so great! I definitely have a love/hate relationship with DIY's... but in the end there is mostly love. I saved major cash, I got custom pieces that fit just my space, and I have a new set of skills. Win win.

There are about a million pics... beware. I love looking at how your personal space transforms over time so I had to document every angle.
