Gilroy Gardens

Before the baby came we wanted to do something really fun with Weston before his little world got rocked. We headed to Gilroy Gardens {an awesome amusement park for young kids} 2 days before I gave birth. I'm not sure if we really thought this through because I was a site to see. Seriously, I think I gave some people heart attacks because I was one large prego lady sitting on rides. I think at one point I pretended one of the seat belts fit me and I slightly hid it with my hand so I didn't get kicked off. Cameron thought it was really funny to take pictures of me {front and back view} for my viewing pleasure when I downloaded. Let's just say viewing those made me come to the conclusion that prego mamas should just stay in their houses the week before they deliver because it's just not a good situation. We had such a fun time though and Weston was in heaven. Of course we got suckered into season passes so we'll be back.

Weston's favorite part was probably the giant playground with the slides. So typical... you end up at an amusement park and spend 30 minutes at a playground. But he loved it and he loved going down the slide with Cameron over and over again.

Another favorite was the spinning artichokes.
Here's where it gets comical... Cameron somehow convinced me that Weston would only ride on the paddle boats with me. He might have forgotten I was giving birth in two days but I didn't want to let Weston down. Next thing you know I'm leaping into a giant yellow duck while holding Weston's hand. We definitely did not think this through. What if my duck sank?

Well, I did not sink but take note how lopsided the duck is. How embarrassing. Meanwhile Cameron is relaxing out on the dock emailing and taking pictures while I'm out in the middle of a lake literally sweating to death. Weston, on the other hand, was loving every second. He especially loved reversing the duck after I would try so hard to get it to go forward towards the dock.

I'm not reclining out of relaxation... it's the only position my pregnant body could be in while paddling the giant duck. Paddle boats are equivalent to stair steppers and marathons and I cursed the wind overtime it blew me in the opposite direction. You'll never see me in a paddle boat again. EVER.

Egg Cracking {2011}

Our egg dying experience went like this:

1. Weston dropping the egg into the dye
2. Laughing when the dye splashed everywhere
3. Redipping/dropping the same egg into all the different colors
4. Eventually squeezing the egg hard enough till the shell cracked
5. Saying "Ewwwwww" as he pulled the egg apart to look at the inside

After 12 eggs it never got old.... he LOVED it!

Easter {2011}

Easter pics were a total bust and pretty much comical. The pics fell into three categories:

Weston picking his nose,

Cameron picking boogers out of Weston's nose,
or screaming tantrums. Sweet. Happy Easter!

Church Egg Hunt {2011}

Our ward hosts a giant egg hunt every year and I was warned that if you aren't there by 8 am on the dot you'll miss the whole thing. We were there 10 minutes early {the only thing I've probably ever been early to} and they weren't kidding- the whole thing was over by 8:05. Good thing Weston knew what he was doing by the time this egg hunt rolled around. Eggs = good things!! He saw those eggs on the ground and he literally ran from egg to egg, scooping them up till his basket was full.

Neighborhood Egg Hunt {2011}

Suzanne {my neighbor} and I hosted the neighborhood egg hunt again this year. Last year Weston was just an itty bitty so it was so fun to see him keep up with all his buddies. Our neighborhood is so jam packed with kids but many of them started preschool programs this year so our numbers were smaller.... which was actually kind of nice because the little ones actually had a chance to find some eggs!

Since most of the kids were younger this year we got really tricky about where we hid the eggs.

On your mark, get set, GO!

Weston and Brayden were more interested in opening and dumping their eggs than collecting more.
Evan showing off his loot.

After, we ate, the kids played, the mamas talked

and then the peep cupcakes made an appearance. Such a fun day for all the kiddos...

Suzanne and I were cleaning up after everyone had left and the boys were quite for a bit too long. Where did we find them? Literally licking the ranch bowl clean with mini carrots. They were so serious about it too... they did not leave that spot till every carrot was gone.

"Oh, Egg!"

I've been way excited for Easter this year because Weston loves anything that has to do with eggs {including cracking them} and he loves bunnies. He's been playing with his plastic eggs all month so I knew he'd love hunting for them. We had our first of 3 egg hunts on Wednesday, at one of his classes, and he loved it. He took the whole thing very seriously and whenever he'd find an egg he'd say, "Oh, egg," as if he couldn't believe his luck.

Swing Those Hips

Weston may look like me but the hip sway comes straight from Cameron.

Play-Doh And Bedhead

What's more fun than rolling out of bed and immediately starting up a play-doh session? Yeah, can't think of anything.

Weston is more than thrilled with his latest creation.

I mean, who wouldn't be?

Lovin' on Kai

We had some friends over for dinner and Kai and Weston had such a good time playing.... and hugging. Weston is obsessed with hugging and would chase Kai down every second. Kai's smile has got to be the cutest thing.

Guitar Lessons

Cameron is still dreaming up his "mid-life crisis" moment where he quits his job and forms a band with his boys. Weston is still not sold on the idea since his idea of playing the guitar is dropping the pic inside the sound hole and then laughing hysterically as Cameron shakes it out.

4th Anniversary

Four years today. Wow. It seems so short and so long all at the same time. I think we both wish we were in La Jolla celebrating but we'll probably do something incredibly spontaneous and get take out from Uncle Yu's after Weston goes to bed. We're crazy romantic like that {and apparently teenagers don't want to babysit during their spring break}. Happy Anniversary babe... love you!
