Christmas Crafting And Baking

Weston and I  had so much fun crafting and baking this Christmas. I put a mini tree in Weston's room and we worked on little ornaments throughout the month. His favorite part was hanging them up and rearranging the ornaments in a different spot each night. The tree toppled a few times but thats why he had his own tree.... he could rearrange till his heart desired. He got a baby Jesus from nursery and he put it under his tree. One night he gave Jesus a kiss in his manger and it seriously was the sweetest thing. Anyhow, I wished I pulled out the camera more but I was usually covered in supplies. 

Weston loved decorating his gingerbread house and pretty sure most of the candies ended up in his mouth instead of on the house.  

Total concentration on the gumdrop tree...

I'm glad December only comes once a year because my kids' got a sweet tooth.

"I Do, I Do"

Seems to be that anytime I do anything I hear running feet and a little voice saying "I do, I do." Suddenly my project is taken over by two little hands and a very strong willed personality. It's actually really sweet to see how much he loves to be apart of everything. But let's be honest; somehow "I do, I do" leads to twice the mess and twice as long. My kitchen will never be the same after our cinnamon roll experience.

Small Miracles

Some small miracles have been happening around here. 

The first: I activated some yeast

The second: I figured out ON MY OWN that I was using the wrong mixing tool for the mixer. 

The third (kind of): My bread looked a little bit like Emily's except it was a little smaller and undercooked. But who's counting? 

Next up: Cinnamon rolls. I recruited Cameron for this project... he was thrilled. 

Some how I collected a large supply of flour on my GINORMOUS belly. It is getting out of control. 

And they really turned out... I seriously still can't believe it. I'm sure they weren't as light and fluffy as they could have been... but they were edible my first time making them. Pretty much that was a miracle.
